Our mission

Promote climate health and entrepreneurship in Uganda

MAKEXAFRICA CLIMATE HEALTH FOUNDATION, founded in 2020 in Jinja, Uganda, evolved from a CBO into a company limited by guarantee. It promotes climate-oriented public health and climate-smart micro-entrepreneurship, directly engaging youth and women often excluded from knowledge and skills but facing deep socio-economic and climate challenges. 

Our Objectives

  • Promote advocacy and access to climate and health awareness focusing on food security, nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, and sustainable water, benefiting especially youth and women
  • Promote advocacy and hands-on climate-smart-micro-entrepreneurial skilling benefiting especially youth and women
  • Promote global climate-smart-public-health and climate-oriented entrepreneurship knowledge generation and exchange through practical national and international hands-on internships and volunteering
  • Promote advocacy and awareness linkages between climate-smart public-health solutions, gender-based violence and harmful cultural practices benefiting especially youth and women
  • Promote research and dissemination on climate-smart-public health and climate-oriented-entrepreneurship solutions resulting in knowledge and information for evidence-based advocacy and decision making benefiting especially youth and women

Village camps on climate-smart-public-health and climate-oriented-micro-entrepreneurship mentorship

During the camps we engage adolescent girls and young women gain hands-on climate-smart-micro-entrepreneurial skills, especially on nutrition, soap & sanitary pads making, and living lifestyles that protect them from getting infection, particularly rejecting unwanted sex and marriage! We empower them to practice appropriate family planning methods, report gender-based-violence and harmful cultural practices.
